Nuclear power industry

In the nuclear industry, unlike in the aerospace industry, where, for example, ASTM A380/A380M-17 is used, there are no globally accepted standards for cleaning, pickling and passivation technologies for stainless steel parts, equipment and systems. For this reason, the SÚJB administers the Atomic Act, which covers all components used in nuclear power. All equipment must therefore meet the requirements of Decree No. 358/2016 Coll., on quality assurance, technical safety and conformity assessment of selected equipment.

Major players in the nuclear power industry, such as ČEZ and ŠKODA JS, have therefore developed their own technological procedures, regulations and instructions in order to ensure the required quality and safety in accordance with applicable laws. Our expertise and years of experience have enabled us to participate in the development of these regulations and procedures for surface treatment. As a result, we are able to provide customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with high quality and meet the requirements of end customers in the field of nuclear power. Recently, we also established cooperation with companies in Poland, contributing to the construction and operation of nuclear power plants there.

We guarantee our customers that we will carry out our work according to the required regulations. In addition, the parts are clearly marked with a specific identification card when passing through the company. The entire process, which takes no more than five days, is supervised by several technicians – from start to finish. Once accepted, the parts are subject to an initial inspection. The parts are also tracked during processing. In addition to visual inspection, they are tested according to defined tests. Most often by performing the abrasion test, ferroxyl test or partial water test. They are then carefully packaged to eliminate the risk of damage and contamination. In the last step, they are returned to the customer.
