Pharmaceutical industry
Our company performs a wide range of work, including chemical cleaning (pickling and passivation) of the inner surfaces of pipelines, storage tanks and entire technological units for the pharmaceutical industry.
These activities are most often performed for two reasons:
- Impurities stick to newly assembled technological units after completion of assembly work or to pipe loops and storage tanks newly added to existing technology. We can easily remove impurities and also provide corrosion resistance for stainless steel surfaces, which are usually disturbed after assembly.
- Impurities accumulate on existing technological units and storage tanks during downtime and could contaminate the final product. A common reason for performing chemical cleaning of already functional systems is the removal of mechanical impurities detected by a control swab or rouging. We will remove these accumulated impurities and also restore the passive layer that ensures the corrosion resistance of alloyed anti-corrosion steel surfaces.
The work is mostly done according to the following scheme:
We carry out all activities ourselves at our workplace, which consists of a diaphragm pump to ensure circulation, storage tanks for products used and IBC containers for rinse water. We connect to the pipeline using our own clamps. The working group has acid-resistant hoses to connect the individual parts of the system if needed. All acidic rinse water and products used are collected, transported and disposed of ecologically in our own neutralization station. All we need from the customer is an electricity and water connection.
If pumps that are part of the system also need to be cleaned, circulation is carried out through them.
We have been doing our work for more than 30 years, we have developed technological and working procedures for all activities. The orders are handled by trained staff, who are always guided by an experienced foreman. Preparation of the order, determination of suitable chemical products and determination of the workflow is handled by the order technician in cooperation with the technologist.
- Degreasing with a suitable detergent.
- Flushing of the system with clean water.
- Pickling. The intensity of the pickling bath may vary depending on the initial condition of the pipe and the desired result. Most often, a lighter chemical composition is used to ensure that the roughness of internal surfaces is not increased. However, stronger pickling baths can also be mixed and, in combination with an increased temperature, they can cope with strong rouging. This is often formed in systems exposed to higher temperatures, e.g. pure steam distribution, but also in others.
- Flushing of the system with clean water.
- Passivation to ensure maximum corrosion resistance of a stainless steel surface.
- Thorough flushing of the entire system with clean water.
